10 pears peeled and cut into chunks
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup white sugar
For the crumble:
½ cup unrefined brown sugar
¾ cup plain flour
¾ cup rolled oats
½ cup unsalted butter, cubed at room temperature
Preheat the oven to 180C.
Make the crumble.
Mix the flour and the brown sugar together in a large mixing bowl. Take a couple of cubes of butter at a time and rub it into the mixture with your fingers. Keep doing this until the butter is finished and the mixture resembles that of breadcrumbs.
Make the filling.
Put the pears into a large bowl and sprinkle in the sugar. Stir this together being careful not to break up the fruit.
Bake the pears.
Grease and ovenproof dish and spoon in the pears. Sprinkle over the crumbles and bake in the oven for 40 – 45 minutes until golden brown.
