Simple Pear Cake Recipe

A tasty cake that is simple and easy to make
Yield: 8    Preparation Time: 15 minutes    Cooking Time: 30 minutes
A really tasty cake that can be made with any stewed fruit and it does not need a lot of mixing


For the base:
3 cups self-raising flour
2 small pots natural yoghurt
1 egg
2 cups caster sugar
½ cup vegetable oil

For the fruit:
Approx 4 stewed pears

For the topping:
50g butter
2 heaped tablespoons icing sugar
3 heaped tablespoons plain flour

Recipe Instructions

Preheat the oven to 180C

Make the base.
Mix all the base ingredients together in a large bowl.

Make the topping.
Crumble all the topping ingredients together until it looks like breadcrumbs.

Make the cake.
Pour the base mix into a non-stick cake tin, layer the stewed fruit on top and finally sprinkle over the topping mix. Bake the cake for 30 – 35 minutes until it turns brown and starts to go crunchy but is still moist inside.
