900g ripe pears
25g soft brown sugar
For the crumble topping:
75g Butter (room temperature)
225g Plain or whole-wheat flour
75g - 110g Soft Brown Sugar to taste
Preheat oven to 180C.
Prepare the pears.
Peel and quarter the pears. Remove the cores and the pips and place them in a large casserole dish. Sprinkle over the sugar.
Make the crumble.
Place the flour and the butter in a large mixing bowl and rub them together until the mixture is crumbly. Make sure the flour is evenly dispersed then add the sugar and mix everything together.
Bake the pears.
Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the top of the pears and place them in the oven. Cook for 30 – 40 minutes until it turns golden brown.
